Illustrator Olivia Chindamo is a New York–based illustrator and acclaimed jazz vocalist originally from Australia. Olivia’s portfolio spans a wide range of mediums, from gouache and watercolor to digital paintings, and often features wild, whimsical landscapes and wonky little houses.

I Wish That I Could Be a Whale marks her debut children’s book, bringing her dreamy illustrations to young readers for the first time.

The artwork in this book was drawn digitally on an iPad with an Apple Pencil playing the roles of acrylic paintbrush, oil paint brush and watercolor wash brush.

Olivia lives in Queens, New York, with her husband and their two cats.
